With the demise of the 250cc Class in Grand Prix Motorcycle racing, 2010 brings us the all new Moto 2 with a grid of 40 bikes instead of last years 25 bike start. There is a lot of interest in this class, with all bikes having the same Honda 600cc engine and Dunlop tyres, creating a more level playing field than the larger engine main Moto GP class.
The first round is in Qatar on the 11.4.10 and Scott Reading is providing British fans with hopefully something to cheer about in the coming season. The 17 year old Brit is riding for The Marc VDS Racing Team, moving up a catagory from last years 125’s.
Die hard 2 stroke enthusiasts are saying they will miss the scream of the old 250’s, but with the Moto 2’s reving to 16,000, I think they will be pleasantly surprised with the new sound.

moto 2 is the most fair motor racing in the world, because the machine is the same. the winning depends on the rider’s skill and preparation of the bike by a team.
